So it’s been a few months now since Pantone’s 2014 Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid, was announced. And in that time, Radiant Orchid has been popping up everywhere! Since 2000, Pantone has been naming a Color of the Year. The first year was Cerulean, and last year’s was Emerald. This year, we have a beautiful mixture of purple and pink. But what is the best way to incorporate Radiant Orchid into your event?
Radiant Orchid is best used in pops of color, otherwise it can get overwhelming. Here are our suggestions:
Chargers are used as pops of color underneath a dining plate at a place setting. A bright Radiant Orchid colored charger would make a beautiful statement at an event.
Macarons (not to be confused with macaroons) are a delightful French pastry which come in a variety of colors and flavors. Radiant Orchid colored macarons would make a perfect addition to any dessert table.
And of course, how could we have a post on Radiant Orchid without mentioning its namesake: the Orchid! Orchids can be expensive, but they are very dramatic blooms, so even the sparing use of them has a big effect.
I hope we have given you some inspiration as to how to incorporate this trend into your events for this year. Let us know how you used Radiant Orchid!
